ANOTHER wake up call for me!

Recommended Posts

I am having my sleeve surgery in June. I have been feeling so up and down about it..one minute I can't wait, the next, I am scared to death. Well, today was yet another reminder as to why I AM doing this. I work with 2 yr olds, I was sitting on a little chair while the kids were playing. The toy they were playing with came apart, and I needed to get on the floor to fix it. I could not figure HOW I was going to get from the chair to the floor. It's the first time that has EVER happened to me. I ended up kinda falling off the chair onto the floor. I NEVER want to feel that shame and humiliation again!!!!

I was at work and dropped my pin on the floor........ humiliation........my patient looking at me trying to get it off the floor. Then when I stand up to talk to him after what seem like two minutes trying to get my pin I was red in face..... I am going in May and had been back and forward happy then scared. Now I am so ready!☹

I had to sit on the rug in my kindergarteners classroom last week for a story. I felt like a fool when it was time to try and stand up.

I HATE getting up from the floor. It's a horrible sight. And lately, getting down is just as ugly. But that's all going to change! I can't wait to be "normal".

I know how you feel. I have become an expert at picking things up(at home) without beding over, using my feet! I just want to live a normal life. I miss the days when I could squat down and talk to the kids in my class face to face, now they have to look up at me because I can't get down there. It's sad.

I was just having a small anxiety attack yesterday and my snug pajama pants ripped right down my butt when I sat down. I think this pushed me a little to the excited side lol

I went to a paint night with friends last night, and as soon as I walked in, I panicked because my 1st 2 thoughts were...the chair isn't going to hold me and the apron isn't going to fit. Thank goodness it was fine, but it sucks. I'm sorry about your pj's, but just think about all of the cute new ones you will be able to buy!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
