Misty Barnhart 29 Posted January 31, 2017 Did you all notice a big weight loss your first week? I don't have a scale, but I can honestly say I don't feel like Ive lost anything at all. How would that even be possible!? I was expecting the weight to start falling off! Kinda frustrating. * Misty *
_Kate_ 2,224 Posted January 31, 2017 It's been a week ! You dont have any stats on your profile which makes it difficult to comment. Also you will be bloated from the surgery. As long as you are sticking to the programme, it will start dropping off soon. Best of Luck Kate
NewAdventure2016 131 Posted January 31, 2017 I know it's frustrating at first but hang in there and be patient. I always felt like I would be the "one" person that even the surgery couldn't save! I was so resistant (prior to surgery) to losing weight. My body just refused to let go, no matter how much I exercised or how little I ate. It will take a little time to recover from the fluids pumped into you and sometimes you will stall. It's ok, it's all normal and part of the process. I have been on these boards for about 6 months and I have yet to hear even one person say they didn't eventually start losing. It will happen. Just stick to what you're supposed to do. Most important, get your fluids and your Protein. I'm 5 months out and on weeks where my Fluid is especially low or I don't get as much Protein, I will stall. Your only job now is to focus on those and when you do (once your body is out of shock), it will start to drop. Katrina Linda 1 Posted January 31, 2017 Hi I'm 1 week post op. Since I started my pre op diet on the 12th Jan til today I've lost 11lb but yes still feel bloated. Just struggling with the pureed foods. I've had Soups mash jelly and ice cream Any ideas. I can't stand the thought if liquidised meat and I don't like porridge or wheetabix...I know...I'm a pain. Lol. X Sent from my SM-G925F using the BariatricPal App
AGreenEyedWolf 97 Posted January 31, 2017 You have to remember you won't see it coming off for quite awhile. You'll notice it on a scale before you'll see it in the mirror. I am 1 week post-op also... the scale says I have lost 11 pounds, but I don't see it in the mirror at all.
