Recommended Posts

I was sleeved Aug 22, 2016. Started at 212, down to 165, but really stalling and very slow losing. How is everyone else doing that were sleeved in late August?

Hi. I am an August 22 too! I can relate to the stall/slow loss feeling. I was 255 August 1 - 236 day of surgery and I'm 181 today.

Just sticking with the plan and working in more exercise and weight training now.

Super excited about my energy and mobility so it's all good.

Plus I look pretty good - so there's that lol

Hi. I was sleeved August 30th. I was a lower BMI sleever with PCOS, high BP & cholesterol, and sleep apnea.

My highest weight ever was 243 awhile before my initial consult.

SW - 236

CW - 174

GW - 150

I feel like the last month and a half has gone slow, even though I've lost 20 pounds between November 8th and today (2/5/17). I think I have that perception because my doctors told me to stop weighing myself daily. I also think I am a little freaked out that goal is only 25 pounds away and I just want to hurry up and get there. I can definitely tell that I am still losing inches even when the scale doesn't move.

I have been going to the gym 4-5 days a week. I track my food. I've had problems with trying to take in calories so I don't blaze up everything I eat when I work out.

My biggest issue right now is trying to comprehend what I see versus the vision I have of myself in my mind.

August 23 surgery. HW 271.5 SW 246.9 CW 196.3 So that's 75 pounds from high weight and 50 pounds from surgery weight. Loss has slowed, but I haven't been to the gym as much as before. I think I need to up my calories. I'm still sitting around 900 a day. My goal is near 150, but I won't know until I get closer -- I don't want to look ridiculous.

I had surgery in early July, but I'm checking in here anyway. I'm really happy with how quickly I lost and how I've adjusted to the diet. My loss has slowed over the last couple of months but there's still a downward trend.

I was 214 day of surgery and this morning weighed 146. My surgeon recommended I get down to around 140 but I'd like to keep pushing past that as I'm only 5 feet tall

I was sleeved August 12. Starting weight 207, surgical weight 166. Current weight 136. Goal weight 125. Very slow loss now, but I'm not in a hurry, I'm working on conquering lifelong bad habits. Some days good, others, not so good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
