I would straight up buy some ankle weights and wear them. I don't care who bashes me for saying so. It's so close. Don't let this door close if you have decided this is what is right for you.

Try to scrunch down when they do your height, I did and it made then put me 2 inches shorter which raised my BMI.

I know of some one purchasing small ankle weights and putting them in bra under the boobs... it worked. or EAT EAT

I'd eat something high fat/salt to make myself bloated. Very uncomfortable, but Water retention packs on the weight.

Just because your BMI is 39 doesn't mean that you don't deserve a tool that will ultimately help you achieve optimal health. My BMi is 40 and is my highest ever now due to a broken ankle last year. Actually that is what made me think surgery when in the past I'd been against it. I love the gym and worked my butt off last JAnuary and ate no processed foods , stayed below 25 g of carbs and at an average of 1200 calories a day. It took me 5 months to lose 25 lbs and I felt good then Broke my ankle and BAM up 30 lbs. I looked at the last ten years of my life and realized its a constant battle and I've spent countless hours, money, effort and I'm heavier then I have ever been. Do what you have to do to be the 40 BMI so you can get the tool you need to succeed. I realize insurance companies need a cutoff but obese is obese and at 39 BMI vs 40 we have the same issues and just want to see results when we put in the work.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
