Journey4myhealth 7 Posted January 29, 2017 I just had my required abdomen ultrasound and it turns out that my liver is enlarged (20cm). I am going through the supervised diet right now and won't have surgery until June. Is there anything I can do now to help shrink my liver or will the pre-op diet take care of that? _Kate_ 2,224 Posted January 29, 2017 It's never too soon to change eating and drinking habits. Will you need another scan before the surgery? Kate

blizair09 3,250 Posted January 29, 2017 I recommend that you get started on changing your relationship with food and drink now. I had fatty liver as well, but by the time I finished my six-month, insurance-required diet program, my liver was a normal size and all of my liver enzymes were in the normal range. And this was before the surgery even occurred! The six month period was the very best thing that ever happened to me. Even better than the surgery, frankly. Good luck!
