first fill --vomiting!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi ---so I had surgery on Aug 13 --I had my first fill on Thursday sept 20---I was able to drink water--but very slowly--

Friday--I threw up----I sallowed something too big I think--

Saturday I got my TOM.

Last night I was able to eat some mushie food yogurt and mashed potatoes.

This morning I had a headache so I took some Excedrin.--as I was sallowing it I thought--oh this is too big---and I threw up again.

I called my doctor and left a message---

I am worried about slippage---If I kept throwing up --

What should I do?

Am I too tight?--or do I need to be more careful??

:help:

Absolutely call your Dr. for your own peace of mind. About 5 weeks out when I was feeling brave and was starting to try new foods (against my Drs instructions) I was having PBs a couple of times a week. Yuck..!

Are you truly vomiting or are you having PBs? The difference is that PBs are foods that are not digested at all and are coated in a clear "slim". They almost get stuck in your throat and you fell like you swallowed a golf ball. I have yet to truly vomit and empty my "big stomach".

I would call just to make yourself feel better. Heck, what else are they there for???????

Sounds like you might need a slight defill. Are you eating TEENY TINEY bites AND waiting several minutes in between bites/swallows??

In any event, you DEFINITELY need to go see your doc.

Sounds to me like you need to stay on mushies and liquids for 48 hours and then see how you are... also TOM can make you swollen. Have a little patience, follow all the rules and baby your band for a bit. I have an idea that you'll be much better in a week or so.

Yes I spoke with my doctor and they told me to stay on liquids for 2 days and then mushies---drink hot tea when I try to eat anything--and if it gets worse--like no Water goes down then I will go in for a de-fill--

Thank you guys for all your advise!---the people who say that weight lost surgery is the easy way out need a good smack in the face!!---

Don't worry -- it won't always be like this!! The first 3-4 months can be a little rocky but you'll relax a bit when you get used to things.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
