What was the first thing you ate once you were cleared for the pureed stage? Any recipes or suggestions for future stages? What was/is your fave thing to eat?

Wish I could help but the pureed stage was the most difficult for me. I am a visual eater and just couldn't bring myself to puree meat and then eat it. I ate mashed potatoes, applesauce, ricotta bake, yogurt and drank my Protein shakes.

So far I've done 2 tablespoons of yogert. That was my first try. Latter I had 2 oz of tuna. Went down pretty smooth

Sounds like some of you are at the beginning stage like me. I am 7 days post op. I don't really post on here, I like reading the posts from others. It does help. Anyway, my question is about early stages of weight loss. I think I've only lost maybe 5 lbs. guess it just seems like I should've lost more after not eating for a week. Can someone share their experiences with me or tell me that I shouldn't be worried about it right now OR am I doing something wrong? Think my nerves are getting the best of me. Thank you for anyone that can help me.

I'm also looking forward to hearing your responses about puréed food. I'm. It going to be one that can purée just anything! That just sounds awful so I hope some others can help out with things that worked for them at this stage that will be coming up for me soon.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Your body will let go of it. Some just loose at a slower pace. I'm 15 days post op and have lost 10 pounds. I'm not really worried because I know I'm doing everything right ...Getting in my Protein, Water, Vitamins and walking an hour a day. Good luck! You are doing fine.

My first food in that stage was a scrambled egg. Low fat Greek yogurt went well too and still does (I'm early in the "soft diet" phase-- my RNY was 1/16). Puréed cauliflower it just a tiny bit after Protein. Really super duper mashed canned salmon with a bit of low fat mayo.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
