lindach1761 4 Posted January 27, 2017 Do people that had revision surgery lose weight more slowly. Also I am 4 weeks out and still having trouble with food.< /p> Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App
Daenerys Targaryen 109 Posted January 27, 2017 Personally, i have lost at the same speed as a first time bypass patient according to my doc (i was band to bypass). The band just didn't work for me.
ladonnaf 0 Posted January 29, 2017 What kind of trouble are you having with food? I have had my band for 7 years and lots of problems but not with food I can eat so I am concerned it will be worse for me with sleeve. Mimi52 103 Posted January 30, 2017 I had the revision in September and have lost total of 37lbs since day of surgery, my sister had surgery 3 years ago and had lost 50 lbs during same time period but she had more to lose than me. My Dr told me everyone is different and with the revision you sometimes weight loss is slower, but I am happy with my progress. ddkVSG 32 Posted February 2, 2017 Im losing better with my sleeve than I ever lost with the band. Good riddance to that torture device!
lindsaybrumfield 2 Posted February 2, 2017 I had the band in 2013. It ate a hole in my stomach and I had it removed 2 months later. I am having the sleeve done 2/28. I hope it's the same weightloss as a first time patient. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
hermione53 157 Posted February 4, 2017 I've lost 27.6 pounds in 7 1/2 weeks. I think that's on target for my BMI and gender. Hope it doesn't slow down! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
BSWhip08 23 Posted February 4, 2017 Had the band in 2008, had it removed in 2015. It was semi successful, but I had many problems over the years, which finally resulted in getting it removed. Was sleeved in November, and could be happier. I feel much better and don't have any of the issues I had with the band. Good luck! BREWSTER1 1 Posted February 20, 2017 Is the diet the same as the band, should be?
ddkVSG 32 Posted February 20, 2017 Essentially yes. Protein first, then veg. Potato/pasta/rice/flour are a no. No fluids for 30 min after eating.
