SassyScienceNerd 213 Posted January 26, 2017 I am a social smoker- pretty much just when I'm hanging out with other friends who do, so I'll go weeks without and then have a few one night, then go another few weeks not even thinking about it. It won't be difficult to not do it prior to the surgery. How soon after would I be ok to resume smoking? I know, I know it's bad for me and the best thing to do is just quit forever, but I'm not going to. So if that's your advice, that's ok, but it's not happening. Lol. I enjoy it occasionally. What is the issue with quitting before surgery anyway? Is it because of issues with anesthesia or post-sugical clotting risk or something else?
