What's your diet, that finding vegetables to work is such a challenge? Can't make suggestions unless I know what the limitations are. :)

I don't know! I think I can have anything really. But, I have been eating cooked, soft veggies. I heard that one should not eat raw fruits or veggies for a while, so I haven't. I really don't know what the limitations are. ???

I make a veggie stir fry....olive oil..soy sauce...teriyaki sauce let them saute' and emm good

instead of plain steamed broccoli i cook my broccoli in a little olive oil and add all kinds of seasoning like garlic and basil, zatarians, onions....and it is sooo good.

I am from louisiana so we love boiled seafood.....but sometimes i take all my veggies that i like....celery, green Beans, onions, corn, brussel sprouts, cabbage, mushrooms and some potatoes and lemons and boil em up with some lite salt, zatarians seasoning...and it is mmm good.

you can also take whatever veggies you like and put them in the oven with a can of cream of mushroom or cream of onion or cream of celery ..whichever your preference be and put some seasoning on them and let them cook....very good that way.

Thank you so much! I didn't think about the stir-fry option. I think I'll try that. Now I am getting to the point where I can eat anything, nothing really gets stuck. So, I start with my Protein as the doctor recommended, but I am missing veggies so much.

Can I ask y'all another question... ? What does your daily meal plan look like? Do you eat 3 or 4 meals a day? Snacks? liquids? I'm just trying to get a good picture. I wake up at 6:30 am with the baby and I work till 11pm at night. It's hard for me to limit myself to only 3 meals. Any suggestions?

[sorry, I thought I could post any poll. I didn't realize it had to be the same subject.]

D~

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
