pharmD_vsg 99 Posted January 25, 2017 I'm 26 days post-op. I have lost 19lbs since the surgery but total of 33lbs from my highest weight. I was supposed to have my period around the 20th but I still haven't gotten it yet but I feel very bloated and I have cravings for chocolate like before my surgery. Has anybody else experience something similar?! What to do about the cravings ?! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
CocoNina 210 Posted January 25, 2017 (edited) I don't have any advice because my surgery isn't until next month. But I'm curious to know too so I'm following your post. Berry78 4,261 Posted January 26, 2017 Periods will likely be irregular during dramatic weight loss. Maybe drink chocolate flavored Protein shakes? Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

gryffen 176 Posted January 26, 2017 They can go slightly mental as you loose weight so if it's possible, looks at BC that may help alleviate periods or stop them all together. NHS Glasgow who I'm doing it with requires all woman to be on BC before surgery due to the risk of pregnancy and wacked out menstrual issues. Fridge Pickers Wear Bigger Knickers ???? jwinters19 124 Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) I was told that our fat stores hormones so as we lose weight those hormones get released and messing with emotions and periods. Also, my doctor told me I had to use 2 methods of birth control for the first year so if you aren't using any, that might be worth looking into. So you burn fat and cholesterol is released and get used up to make more hormones.... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
InspectorJensen 20 Posted January 26, 2017 I'm having this issue now. Had surgery Dec 19 and flow came on schedule on the 22. I have had none since despite only losing about 20 lbs since surgery. I wear/carry protection as I feel like I am about to start for the last week. The unpredictability is harder than just getting it over with. I definitely don't want any surprises!
