Thinking about the toronto cosmetic clinic?

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen posts about toronto cosmetic clinic in a while other than in the past week, ppl have been talking about consults there and such, so i think they should know about this.

YIkes;

When I browsed the Dr. Tin's site and read thearticles there regarding Band surgery... it quoted " Dr. Tin does 3 -4 LB per month in his surgical practice."

WHAT??? I think I want my surgeon to have 1000's under his belt WITH some good stats to back him up...

From what I've read here and on other boards there are only TWO places to consider for lap band surg in Toronto...

Now in Michigan, I would whole-heartedly recommend BARIX Weight Loss CLINICs... my best friend had her W/L surg. there (OHIP paid) and they were fabulous! Excellent after care and follow up...

Her Surgeon even calls her personally every couple months. (she had her surg. in Feb07)...

just my 2 cents

Expertise of the surgeon is KEY to your success with the band.

Follow up care is critical, and I doubt that someone who only does 3 or 4 a month would have the kind of support that is offered at the TLBC or SWLC.

Thanks for that! I am so glad I cancelled now.... I just did not like the fact that no one had been to him and I had also read the fact that he only did 2-3 a month. I am so excited to meet Dr. Mumford tomorrow at the SWLC in Mississauga!

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
