valerieluvs 20 Posted January 25, 2017 Ladies this is a little tmi but is it normal to get a period 3 days after surgery? I haven't gotten a heavy period in about 2 months now. It started Monday just spotting but yesterday and today it's super heavy. Help!? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
MowryRocks 679 Posted January 25, 2017 I read a lot of things pre-op that indicated that it is very probable to have a period immediately after the surgery.

Moon Princess 55 Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) I had a super wicked period during and after surgery for about 10 days. I think it was all the IV fluids because I was a waterfall (TMI). It was super hard because in recovery I had to change pads constantly, then after I left the hospital I recovered on my couch, I had to put a towel down to make sure I didn't stain it! I've never been able to keep up with my Water intake, so I think with all the influx of iv fluids my body just went to town and did a uterine self clean lol. Lema 236 Posted January 26, 2017 Period is your uterus's way of saying " we are not getting pregnant this month". When your body goes through the trauma of surgery, regardless of which phase it's on, it shakes its head and says "na, it's not happening". Sleeved_G 48 Posted January 26, 2017 I also started my period 3 days in and I wasn't supposed to start for another two weeks. Keep taking Gas-x and sipping on Water as much as you can. There's so much going on around my tummy so I haven't felt any cramps yet! Or I am but the gas pain is more intense.
