It's been 9 days since I've done my surgery before I had to force myself to drink but now I can't stop and super hungry. It's driving me insane and I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

It's not possible to drink too much, so if you can drink a lot, that's great!

As for hunger, can you tell us what you mean by "hungry"? Is your stomach grumbling? If so, that is likely excess acid or gas. Are you on a PPI? Or is it more like you see a commercial for food on TV and you think "OMG, that looks so good! I need it right now!" If so, that's likely head hunger.

When it comes to actually eating, what food stage are you in and how much are you eating or what types of food?

Well, if you aren't having problems with liquids, I would just try to drink more Protein Shakes and more creamed Soup or whatever other full liquids you are allowed. It is quite possible you are legitimately hungry, since we tend to only get a few hundred calories a day in during the liquids phase. You are literally starving. It's also possible that you are thirsty. People often mistake thirst for hunger. So be sure you are drinking as much Water as you can.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
