andreadawn88 0 Posted January 24, 2017 hi everyone! I had the laproscopic gastric bypass in 2008 and the last few years I've been having problems that seem to be getting worse with gerd. I am on omeprozole 40 mg once a day and I have been having severe pains in my abdomen. I went to the er the other night and the doctor gave me famotidine 20 mg tabs and they seem to work for about 2 hours then the pain is back... he told me to only take it 2 times a day so I don't know what I should do. Is it safe to take more than 2 a day or is there something better that I can take? Sent from my LGUS375 using the BariatricPal App
IveGotThePower 395 Posted January 24, 2017 What does your diet look like? I know there are foods I can avoid that keep my Gerd at bay. Tomatoe sauce, spicy foods, eating before bed, eating too much. And before my sleeve it was chocolate and sugary foods. Hope this helps. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
LivinLifeHealthy2009 3 Posted January 25, 2017 Go back and ask for an endoscopy! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
DecemberSleeve 18 Posted February 1, 2017 Sorry to hear that you are suffering with this. I would try to see a gastroenterologist and see if they can do an endoscopy to see if there is something wrong with your pouch. I hope you can find a solution to this. 1 yolie3182 reacted to this
Ro Rookes 5 Posted February 26, 2017 I had vbg done 2005 , eight weeks in and I was throwing up all the time. Spent every few months in hospital with this and malnutrition , Iron deficiency and endemic. They found out after 12 years I have a ruptured staple line and weave through band and stricture. I found this out on thursday. They kept writing it was all in my head , that came from dieticians. 3 psychological assements and nothing to do with this is in my head at all. I take offence to that.so he now will speak with some else.Sent from my SM-G903F using the BariatricPal App
