MeganjoyJanuary8 0 Posted January 23, 2017 I'm 15 days post-op, and for the last 2 days I've had this gross, uncomfortable "gas" feeling in my chest when I eat or drink. Has anybody else dealt with that?
justabitunique 29 Posted January 24, 2017 Yes. I had an upper gi and they said it is gerd. I had gerd before my sleeve, but the sleeve made it much worse. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

JohnOwens 1 Posted January 28, 2017 I'm 3 weeks out and have figured out that when I get that feeling, it is due to how much I swallow and how fast. Change up how much volume you're eating and swallowing. I've found the slower I eat and the less I swallow at a time seems to really lessen the "Gas Bubble" pain. Just listen to what your body is telling you. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
justabitunique 29 Posted February 27, 2017 My doctors put me on like 3 different medications for it and told me to eat 6 small meals a day. It's helped tremendously. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
