I was sleeved on 12-21-16. I was 224 the morning of and today I am 203. I feel like I am not losing like I should be. Every other sleever I have talked to personally has lost more by this point. Am I worried for nothing?

You've lost 21 pounds in a month plus 2 days. That isn't slow by any means. You shouldn't compare yourself to others (even though that is easy to do) since everyone's journey is unique and there are a lot of factors that make it a very apples-and-oranges situation.

This journey is a complete lifestyle change and transformation, so you're in it for the long haul. Just stay on your plan and the weight will come off as it should, but in its own time.

Good luck!

It's easy to do. The mental game of this journey is grueling, even on a good day!

Comparison is a recipe for disaster and disappointment. I feel like a broken record saying this on these forums, but everbody and every BODY is different. If you are doing everything you are supposed to do and following your plan, you will lose weight. How quickly you do so is unbelievably irrelevant in the long run. I promise! I "only" lost 15 pounds my first month. I "only" lost 8 pounds my second month. I "only lost 5-6 pounds a month for several months after that. I "only" lost 2 pounds a month for several months after that. You know where all those "only"s got me? To goal where I've been maintaining for almost 16 months.

I promise you that I have never once looked back and thought to myself "too bad I didn't reach goal a month earlier like so-and-so did." It genuinely makes ZERO difference if you lose all the weight in 6 months or in 16 months. What matters is that you stick to the plan, get to goal, and then spend YEARS and YEARS living your happier, healthier life.

This isn't a diet. You will never be "done" with your sleeve. So there is no race to the "finish" line. This is the rest of your life!

You and I had surgery the same day. I've lost 25 lbs and too felt that it was not enough not because of the number but because I've had a stall for the past 3 weeks! My nutritionist told me to make sure I get my Protein and I have been doing that but nothing. I'm not eating a lot so at one point, it has to come off, right? LOL

Hang in there! :)

I know this feeling all too well, I've lost on average 11lbs a month since being sleeved. I wish it were more, but I can't be mad at that. This entire process as me down 70lbs in 9 months. 70lbs that I no longer have to carry on my body and mind. I've lost a whole lot more than weight, too! I've lost apprehensions, inhibitions, and some fear. Think positively, it'll all be good.

I totally loved this.

Thanks. Going to copy that last paragraph to my journal.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
