Misty Barnhart 29 Posted January 23, 2017 Hey everyone! Im packing my bags for the hospital today. Tomorrow is my big surgery day! Does anyone remember the feeling of freezing after surgery? I just need to know, do I need to pack extra warm clothes? My nurse told me, people tend to run a fever afterwards. Usually that means you could be cold. I just wanted to see what you all have experienced. Thanks for reading and letting me know your input. sleeved42017 10 Posted January 23, 2017 I was not cold at all after surgery. I did bring my own blanket and pillow from home to the hospital. I also did not run a fever either. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

mylighthouse 782 Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) Same with me, I didn't run a fever after surgery and I wasn't cold at all. I remember just having the sheet and light blanket they provide in the hospital. I think I even went with just the top sheet for awhile. Congratulations on your arrival date and best wishes to you! Speedy recovery! Edited January 23, 2017 by mylighthouse
hayleyf3706 150 Posted January 23, 2017 No fever with me! I was chilly, but I usually am in hospitals. They kept me covered up, they have extra blankets. So it's really up to you. I used theirs so I wouldn't have to carry my own Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

msjessy323 184 Posted January 24, 2017 My surgery is Monday and hopefully all will go well. I packed my own blanket and pillow for my own comfort . I normally do not get cold and always hot but since I lost 22lbs since i started my journey i find that i get colder now. I guess its up to how you feel and what you want to bring. Pam_2-06-2017 375 Posted March 21, 2017 I left the hospital with more than I took:-). I anticipated staying one night. So I wore comfy clothes and brought my phone and charger, toothbrush and hair brush. That's it. I had everything I needed at home and the hospital staff provided me everything I needed there. Warm blankets, extra pillows, pain meds (ha!). My husband brought me an sweater when he picked me up.I took the plastic wash bin (for my canning), 4 pair of sticky socks (my son loves them). LolHome is where I wanted to be so I decided I'd get out of there quick:-)I also got a gift bag from my NUT.
Navigating the Wilderness 824 Posted March 22, 2017 Well, I was 400lbs after surgery, so it would have taken a bucket of ice to make me cold. I actually wished they had a fan in my room. 1 call911 reacted to this
