Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Recommended Posts

Hey all you guys, well done to all the losers on the weight loss, a lot of you sound like your doing it on will power alone, so i'm impressed, you should be proud! I dont know if i'm going to manage with a liquid diet, but maybe the band will give me that "inner power!".

Is anyone on their low fat pre op diet yet , that's going out in a few weeks? I am looking to start mine next week, but am trying to cut down now to get myself ready for it!

I also wanted to ask ( close your ears boys) Has anyone had the "time of the month" when they got their op? I think im going to have mine, and honestly, Im thinking about changing the date, as it's always really bad, and im thinking i might get in a state while Im there, and I always feel really tired with it, any advice greatly appreciated :(

THe WLS package for 6 months, I was kind of relying on for fills, as it's the only way i'm going to be able to afford them, Did anyone get an answet yet, if they're going to offer the 6 month deal, I feel they are greedy too, don't they realise people are struggling to get the money together as it is for the OP then the fill money on top makes it even harder!!!

Over and Out! LOL:wub:

Hi money, It was my time of the mth when I went for my op, they were fine when i tried to explaine it to the nurses. On the sat nite, they wanted me to go to the too using a bed pan, I expalined and they just let me walk to the loo, everything was fine, as for the op I kept my knickers on. I hope that this helps. Dont swap dates, you will be fine. mandy

Hi guys another question for you. Do you hear anything from frederic or CDB before you leave for Belgium. Its just Ive been thinking about the pre op diet and stuff and I was wondering if they email you with any instructions about it. Also about the taxi when arriving in Belgium. If youve bought the package does the driver wait for you at airport with your name on a sign or What? I think pre op nerves are starting to kick in and nothings going to plan at the moment. J x

Hey homecare, i went through Bridget for the op booking and uopn email confirmation, there were attachments included detailing a very brief description of the pre-op diet. I didn't hear from Frederick or Dr DB, from what Frederick said to us in Belgium, they're both extremely busy and take ages to read emails x

Hi homecare try not too worry too much im sure everything will run smoothly for you.. the pre op diet is just low fat so dont worry too much about the calories, it is the fat content, as this will shrink your liver and make the op easier for dr chris. x

Hi ladies,

Just wondering if anyone has heard if Wls have abandoned their no 6 month packages to newbies?? I'm hoping to use them post my banding on the 23rd June. I also seem to have developed an unnatural craving for fatty foods in anticipation of the op I'm praying that I can get started in a low fat plan from today and have dug out my old ww books to try to use them as a reference.

i sara, i will ask them this when i go for my fill with them on tuesday. i will let it be known people are upset about this. altho wendy is the fill nurse, she may be able to give some feedback on our comments to the management at WLS. dunno if it will make any difference, but i can try for nothing. dont let this put anyone off WLS though as its still good value when you add up all the fills and the advice, newsletters, 24hour help and the expertise they offer with their team.

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

We have to remember that everyone moves at their own pace. For some it may be harder to adjust, people may have other factors at play that feed into the unhealthy relationship with food e.g. eating disorders, trauma. I'd hope those who you are referring to address this outside of this forum, with a professional.

This is a place to feel safe to vent, seek advice, hopefully without judgement.

Compassion goes a long way :)

Seems it would be more compassionate not to perform a WLS on someone until they are mentally ready for it. Unless of course they are on death's door...

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
