Waiting for 7pm to see who ever it is, then had a knock on the door about 5pm It was Frederick Serneels the General Manager for the follow up service (he conducts the operation with Doctor Chris). He than requests you to meet him upstairs on Floor 1B, there is a general board room that people hire out. He was in a rush as he needed to perform an operation this evening. So a quick brief on what to do tonight and information pack / overview of the procedure. There was another lady in the room also from the UK and once you had short brief one at a time he will talk through medical history / Problems on your own. My husband was there, the payment is made then and once counted for a receipt is given. We need to be at the Hosptal reception for 7am for a one on one consultation with Doctor chris(Again my husband can be present all the way till i go to the operating room(about 1200hrs) visiting times start from 2-8pm. We were also told not to eat/drink anything after midnight due to the anaesthetic but allowed to eat what ever you want you can even have alcohol as long as you dont over do it, we just came back from a 3 min walk up the road to a kebeb and tucked into probably the best kebab i have ever had:ohmy:naughty but nice, I will keep you updated as soon as i can wish me luck:eek: x x

Freckles not sure about the cig place but I am sure there is one not far from hotel near the shops... as for pain relief just tell your daughter to keep asking for it.. I am allergic to the pain relief they give you so I could only have paracetamol thats maybe why they were not so good with it.

Not feeling too bad this evening just a little discomfort thank god..

good luck to all the new bandsters... remember when you get to hospital walk straight ahead and turn right and in the waiting area take a ticket... I pressed the button with INFO its the last button and wait for yr number on the screen.. There is people from Red Cross sitting in corner of room and they will take you to your room, nurses told me visiting is 12.30 - 8.30. In the ward you have 2 other beds, your own locker with number and in the bathroom you have your own sink and soap (all numbered!!). Just take a towel from the hotel.. a small one as you dont get a shower at hospital..:huh2:

Hi all

I was banded on Friday by Chris... Came back home yesterday and glad to be home. Cant really add any new advice as I think its already been said. I was in quite a lot of pain but was given pain relief all the time, was the first one of 6 to be banded which was a relieve as i didnt want to wait around all day.. The hospital was great, really clean and nurses were lovely. I tried to get up and walk as quickly as I could which I think helps. I'm still in a bit of pain today but its easing each day.. now on the liquid diet, but feeling nervous about eating properly again as I dont want to do anything wrong! Good luck to those who are getting banded soon... its not something easy to go through but I;m sure/hope it will all be worth it!

I am so excited for you all, getting banded was one of the finer things in my life, like i have said over and over, I would do it all again if I had to.

Thanx for the info about the shops Lilliebo and the hospital ticket thing.

Thats why they werent so forthcoming with the paracetamol, cos as you know too much can cause problems. Anyway glad its now over for you and hopefully Dylan's too.

I thought I could stay at the hospital until my daughter was safely out of the theatre? Never mind this visiting lark, or is that for later on? I would wait outside the hospital if they kicked me out lol.

Slinx forgot to respond to you asking what I drink lol....I drink lots of stuff, but I do like Scotch, cept it makes me snore bgcwi.gif

dont think my daughter will appreciate that so I had better stick to voddy and coke.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
