Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Recommended Posts

As a matter of interest, how many of you told your doctor you were doing this BEFORE the op?

I went in to have a chat with ours as he had referred me to the NHS and they had refused due to not having any additional illnesses e.g. diabetes, heart problems etc.

He said to let him know how it all went and was very interested.

I did have an appointment after I had the surgery and he was very interested and obviously checked me over and wanted to know about Belgium etc plus what I had lost up to that point (i had just lost my first stone!) so he was really pleased for me and very positive.

Hope all goes well

Take care

Hey all.

I'm a newbie and am in the process of making some big life changes. I've contaced a couple of places in in Ireland about gastric banding but they were way too expensive. I've heard a lot about Dr De Bruyne and Dr Focquet. Is there a difference between either surgeons?

I've not heard much about Dr Focquet but he was recommended to me by a contact person that I had emailed about surgery in Brussels.

If there's anyone that could pass on some information on packages and procedures I would be very greatful. I'm hoping to go in January as it's the only chance I have to go due to educational committments.

Congratulations to all of you who have had the procedure. Here's hoping I will have similar success in the future. Looking forward to hearing from someone x

i think both surgeons are good,it was prob wls that emailed you, they use to use dr debruyne but said he was too expensive lol cause i was gonna go with them cause they do the 3 year package including aftercar and fills for 4800 sterling, but i just prefered dr debruyne, just because i had read up more on him,i chose to go direct with the surgeon and it cost me 4100euro (3500 sterling) including hotel, taxi's and the op but no fills, the fills are £90 a time, either way you will make a good choice if you need to know anythink else just shout

Hey

Thanks for the info. A friend of mine went with Dr Chris and she was very happy. I sent off my information to europesurgery.co.uk a few minutes ago. Can't remember the other site I had emailed earlier. They rang and said that I would get an email tomorrow so will see how much that costs and compare the 2. Is that the site you used?

Well you learn something new every day.

Thank you English Rose for the benefit of your experience, thats really shocked me!!! I just dont understand how the saline is pushing back when its leaking, very strange, but girl I believe you!

Do as suggested and ask the filler to remove all the saline just to check if you still have the said amount in.

Can someone tell me what time you have to check out of the hotel, as our flight home is not until 20:55.

Surely we dont have to hang around the airport all day

Does Dr Chris have an arrangement with the hotel for people who have a late flight?

Thanx in advance.

Ok - I have arrived in Brussells and I am sitting on my bed in the hotel.

It's pretty basic, I suppose it would be best compared to a Travelodge. I'm glad my hubby is with me to keep me company.

My taxi driver said I would be collected at 6.45am tomorrow. My hubby is already despairing about missing brekkie. But the hotel bar is open at 6.30 for brekkie so I doubt he will starve.

I am going to do a video I think and post it on YouTube.

Wish me luck folks x

Thanx Slinky for the info.

Dont think my daughter will feel much like hanging around for 10 hours, so maybe we'll have to book the room.

She doesnt know this, I'll break it to her gently lol.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
