emsey 1 Posted August 10, 2010 5 days after op and feeling soo much better now, it definitely gets better each day and affects esch person differently (one lady I was with felt fine the next day!). Some tips for anyone off to Belgium soon: Take insect repellent/bite cream and the rooms are full of mozzies, even when u think you've swatted them all u wake up with bites. Shave all your stomach before, those fine hairs u can hardly see - otherwise they give u a dry shave with a bic razor! Take PJ's with baggy/short sleeves - u will need to slip 2 drips through the arm holes to get your top on. They give you all the pain killers u need, but don't use the paper cups in the hotel room to make up the fizzy tabs in Water - they make the paper disintegrate and you end up swallowing bits of paper! (use the plastic ones in the bathroom). Get some antiseptic wipes and dressings (opsite from lloyds pharmacy) before you go as you'll have to change your dressings every 2 days when you're back. Oh and the lady in my room had genetic liver problems and I think (really hope) it can be sorted and she can then be banded xx

anitahug 0 Posted August 10, 2010 Radley 59 ... what a bad and stressful start, TOTALLY agree with MMM book direct, I went on my own and had a lot of apprehension but it was FAB having taxis arranged everything went perfect (I was also able to share taxis with others I met, which was handy. As I don't like being in a taxi alone) I originally went to Tullia but found her very abrupt and pressurising me to confirm dates. Defo recommend going direct... u can email Frederick and phone with any questions. GO DIRECT !!!
md75 0 Posted August 10, 2010 Hi Everyone Its finally feeling real....I am off tmrw evening for banding day after tnrw...as I won't get there till 9pm....my consultation is at 6.30am on day of banding!! has anyone else had that? Other than that, I am now getting butterflies in stomach, nerves....worries about packing and a thousand other things going on in my mind. I really do hope and pray that it all goes smoothly. I am also worried about a swollen stomach and some comments about looking pregnant....did the swelling occur for everyone??? I have a formal party to attend in 10 days time and would hate to have a swollen up stomach(pregnant looking) for that. All advise would be greatly appreciated. I will come back and let you all know how it went. Best wishes-MD

its4janni 0 Posted August 10, 2010 Just had my surgery on 3rd August. Just wanna say what a fantastic service Dr Chris and his team provide in Brussels. It was seamless from start to finish. (Go direct) I would highly recommend this provider to anyone, these guys know exactly what they are doing. I am a week post op- feeling ok, still slight pain at port site but dont need painkillers. Pootling out and about. liquid diet not too bad especially as I have made some home made Soups. Using a babies bowl and feeling full after that! Good luck to all those thinking of getting a band and to the fellow newbies who just got theirs.
