Freckles 0 Posted August 6, 2010 can anyone tell me if i will be able to fast after my opp,it will be during ramadan (the fasting month for Muslim)where we eat early morning then stop eating before sunrise until sunset. i've never had any problem fasting but this time will that have any effect on my band?? Sweetheart, it will make your band tight if you dont eat anything. You may also get a lot of wind pain, but apart from those 2 things I think you need to ask the professionals, as I'm not sure, sorry.
Freckles 0 Posted August 6, 2010 Oh dear Nat, you poor thing. There have been a lot of posts about the drain/s, they sound dreadful. I didnt have any as all surgeons work differently. I have told my daughter about them, but she doesnt seem bothered, she is hardcore lol, I wouldnt like it very much.
wannabe slinky 4 Posted August 6, 2010 Thanks everyone. I do feel less pain this morning and had about 14 hours sleep last night lol, must have needed it. I was able to sleep on my side helped by lots of pillows which helped, as i hate sleeping on my back. The one thing I will say is I wish someone had warned me about the drain, it was like a long snake coming out lol. Good luck to everyone getting banded soon. xx i know what you mean about drain when they are taking it out it dosnt hurt just a very strange feeling like an alien worm is being pulled out they told me to breathe in then pulled it out it lasted for about 15 seconds i didnt find it painful just weired good luck to all the newbies that will soon be joining us as bandsters lol:tongue_smilie:
MummiesBB 5 Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) The one thing I will say is I wish someone had warned me about the drain, it was like a long snake coming out lol. I didn't actually find this too bad. Others said it was painful, I didn't really notice but then I had had quite a lot of pain meds and anti-sickness meds, so probably only felt it a little bit. Felt like a piece of hose. It's hard isn't it. I had drains in for my ACL reconstructin now if you mentioned pain then this is definately pain! Especially as I am allergic to morphine so was on nothing when they took them out. Hope you are soon feeling on the mend. I feel great and I am 7 days post op. Take care and look after yourself. Edited August 6, 2010 by MummiesBB
