Ahh Odgey, you do sound like you're not phased by the op at all.

Good job eh!!!

Thanx for your support Flirty and Garry...did I miss anyone, sorry if I did.

I got up about 10am and havent had coffee yet and its 1pm, I know it wont stay down.

But!!! get this I tried an oxo in hot Water and I have drunk half a mug.

I know what you're saying Garry, but I sat myself down this morning and gave myself a good telling off.

This is what I have wanted for so long.

I have read on different forums that its the norm for some people to not be able to drink until the afternoon, and these are people who's weight is dropping off.

So I decided not to care or worry and not to drink anything thick, like the banana milk just before bedtime.

My scales tells me that I have dropped 3kilos since yesterday, it cant be fat its gotta be water hasnt it!!.

For as long as i can tolerate it, I'm going to stick it out. I think it will loosen up over the next few days anyway.

This will kick start my weight loss.:)

well done all you new bandsters who just got back,by the sound of things, your doing fantastic!..somone asked about WLS a few of us on here use em for aftercare and fills and they are fantastic.you will find their website by just googling WLS the phone number and email address will be on there they are quick at getting back to you too . freckles i felt like you after fill before.i only had 5.25ml in and it took about 2 days to wear off abit, kept thinking i should have unfill as was worried but it wore off to aperfect sweet spot that lasted 2 more weeks, then started wearing off a bit, after 6 weeks had 0.25 put in and its not really made much difference..wierd isnt it!?.think the next fill will get me back there. hope it wears off a bit for you to get you to a nice place! fatpants..im fine thanks, hope you are too..my weights not shifting amazingly fast at the mo, but as long as few pounds a month coming off and i dont put em back on..thats fine with me...i still love my chocolate, maybe that is why its slower! im not fretting over it, im just going with the flow and pleased at any loss..i have only lost just over 2 stone at the mo (inc few pounds pre op).it seems like this is the norm tho, and most people slow down after first month. jackie, im really pleased you have got the go ahead as long as you lose weight..its only for your own safety, but hope you have got rid of all that naughty food stuff you bought when depressed other day!! we all know what its like this eating when your happy, and eating when your sad!..were all hoping you can manage to lose good amount and i hope you have an uderstanding doc who can help you with xenical (double strength Alli...dont go far from a toilet!)or some other pills, if they are suitable..you have all us willing you on anyway..good luck! x

To update your ticker just click onto the www.ticker part of the writing on your own ticker it will take you to the ticker site you input your pin and just alter your weight when you've done it the ticker will be automatically updated. I'm rubbish with computers and it even worked for me.

I went with dr chris for the first fill but realy if your going for the six month package with wls it is a bit of a waste of money paying him £90 and then wls £350.I would just go for the package as wendy and her team are realy nice.

Hey, what's the situation with fills, does Chris kinda expect you to take them with him, or is it up to you, I had read about one person on here not knowing their band size, so wondered if this would cause problems. Also, has anyone had the NHS agree to do aftercare??

Odge, so glad your back and so positive and your just making me want this so much right now, it's unreal, but the weeks are flying by, so can't wait.

Homecare, So happy your getting it all sorted!

Anyone out there considring the 3rd July...I will find someone who's going the same day as me if it kills me, Maybe I should put a classified in the paper!:tt1:

Hi penny it was me that had the problem with the band size. When i went with wls they were unsure what size band i had as i was very close to the capacity of the band but with no restriction. So i emailed dr chris 3 times and fredrick 4 times to ask him to clarify what the capacity of the band was and he never replyed.Fredrick replyed only to ask who was my new fill provider and that was that never heard from them since.

Also i went to my gp to ask about getting my fills done on the nhs.So he wrote to the surgeon that i was on the waiting list for getting the band and he said there was no funding for fills.

Thats why i went for the op with dr chris as i was on the nhs waiting list for two years and was then told there was no funding for the op.

Well me and flirty will arrange something with Garry and then tell everyone else that can make it to Glasgow!!!!

I've been really positive anyway not had any nerves. They took my blood pressure and heart rate just before surgery and they were perfect so really pleased it went well!!!

Dr Chris did say we couldgo with other after care groups as long as they are reputable!!!! He told us all the day after surgery what size our bands were but that is because we asked him!!!!:(

Sounds like a familiar story to me, there's no funding for anything at the moment, I have asked for access to a Batriatic Dietitian, and you'd think i've asked for a heart bypass the way they are going on, it's ridiculous that we're all having to pay for this in the first place, that's for sure.

Should I ask him after my Op what size band I get then, so that I know? I would like to go with WLS too.:)

Thanks for advice Bobo

I'll try and remember to ask him then, or I'll ask my Mum to. Did you take someone with you ODge? Im taking my Mum and wondering what she can get up to and when she can visit me the next day etc? Also, what you took with you!!! I think i've asked everyone this, Sorry folks of your getting sick of my 10000 questions, hopefully it helps everyone else go, oh I wondered that too....:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
