Hi everyone, Just a quick check in! Well, it's day three of my pre-op diet and like odge, i can't wait for the big day! Weighed myself pre-diet and in 2 days i've lost my first 4lbs, i'm sooooo chuffed. Have any of you lost much on pre-op diets? Thanks guys x

Hi suefee, our flight time home was stupid o'clock in the morning.. it was hard going if im honest, i wasnt really in pain its just that i was so hot and felt faint, i asked for a wheel chair at the airport and then a porter took me and my partner straight through, didnt have to queue to check in or anything.. so if you dont feel to good ask for one, the staff at the airport were great x

OMG!..i remember that stupid o'time!..i dont reccomemd it..i could hardly walk to start off, it was dark raining heavy and windy wasnt it!..had drive to the airport (charleroi) that was over an hour away, and couldnt see where we were driving!..nightmare!..if you can you prebanders, fly from brussells international at least for your flight back, its nearby, and try to get a flight in the afternoon too...that day you really do start to feel better by the hour, me ,wishfull and bigsister were all on same flight. infact if you can afford it stay one more day...cos that one day extra makes one hell of a difference! anyway wishfull, nice to see you back online"!..your laptop fixed yet or you still on your old PC?, Gillian x

Hi Gillian

I live at the bottom of Cornwall, Truro, so I don't imagine there is anyone near here! Thanks for looking for me.

The milk thistle tablets are 450mg capsules. You are supposed to take 3 a day, but I am taking one in the morning and one at night.

Great info on painlillers, dressings, clothes, shoes etc. keep it all coming for us pre-banders.

A friend was telling me Dr Chris was on TV over the weekend. He was doing stomach staples, but she can't remember what channel it was or what the programme was called. All she remembers was that it was Dr De Bruyne! Anyone see it?

W x

No didnt see that on TV about dr chris..let me know if you see its on any channel again, i like to see owt relevant!. well, Truro!, beautifull, but prob a long way from a band fill! went to cornwall once for a few hours, think it was looe? i was young, and was staying at my sisters in plymouth at the time. not been back but id like to one day, bet its a lovely day down there today? back to fills, i think it will be a day trip for you yes..hopefully youll not need many..ill still look and see whos nearest to you. gillian x

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
