Hi Mandy, I must say I agree with all the other bandsters. How ludicrous saying to support british surgeons, they're hardly waiting on the side lines waiting for our business, but even if they were you're not doing it for their benefit, its for you ONLY YOU. Its about time us rounder figured friends stood up for our selves, its probably one of the reasons we're overweight any way, how many of us put others before ourselves, and seek out other opinions, only to be put down. GO MANDY. GO MANDY. Do this for yourself, be strong.

After care is easily available, you dont need anything other than fills and advise, and support. fills and advise can be got from many places, and support is here. The only thing you might need your local surgery is for the possible removal of one stitch, which you can make an appointment directly with the duty nurse. Go for it. Stuff your doctor

Hi everyone, I did a Detour and went to the hospital to visit my Mum on the way back from Manchester.

I met Sammy and Wishful, it was lovely.

Wishful, did you get a good fill?

Sammy and I were both booked for 1pm, but she was there before me so it was only fair that she went in first.

She was a little nervous but everything went fine she said and when I was called in Sammy was going then.

She has a beautiful baby boy called Harrison, he is absolutely gorgeous, and loves the ladies already sunglasses2.gif

I was in for ages because Freddy boy (bit dishy aint he ) cunning.gif

couldnt find my port for a while, he said I had a lot of scar tissue, with having the other band...but he found it in the end.

He put the usual 3ml in and I am struggling to drink, is this normal, never had that with my last band!!! I hope it stays like this, I will be falling down grids I'll be that thin clap.gif

It was nice to see 2 (faces that I didnt know, but did) if you get my drift.

Hope you have a lovely time in the South of France Mmm. sunshade.gif

I didnt see Garry btw, but didnt expect to cos he was going in the morning.

I did ask the receptionist but she couldnt remember a Scottish bloke.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
