Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Recommended Posts

Hi Jewy and bigbones, glad your over the op, and on the road to recovery.

I had my first fill today with chris deprez, he was most charming and remembered me and my daughter from our visit to Brussells, he seamed very pleased with the way I had healed, and gave me a fill of 2.5ml with another fill next month, so at last I'm on my way.

Hi

I would thoroughly recommend Dr Chris de Bruyne. I had my band fitted last week by him..Hospital spotless and he takes great care of you. cost 3900 euro..a big investment , but I'm so glad I have had it done. I was very dubious about travelling to Brussels with the money , I was terrified it was a scam but it all went well.Best of luck with it all

Hi Shoes, welcome back, I missed you. i noticed you were on the Irish section last week, and was wondering if you'd have time to call in.

OMG!!! You have done so well, almost 2 stone and not even had a fill, you are good, well done chick.

I could never eat bread with my first band after having fills, but could manage a bit of crusty roll if i nibbled it and took forever to eat it.

But that was it, ordinary bread was taboo.

Whatever you're doing carry on, its working for you. xx

I just tried some toast for Breakfast - half went down OK then it really hurt! Just as well as bread was probably my biggest downfall!! :)

Maybe its a good thing, I also love bread, garlic and otherwise, atm I can manage it, but I know later, after fills, I wont be able to.

Shoes, we dont care whether you're English Irish or whatever, you are part of our great thread and we luvs ya.

My port area is still very tender, and I can feel the band around my tum, through the skin, just above my tummy button... I dont know why, I couldnt last time. It's really weird, anyone else got this?

(My daughter reckons that what it is, but I dont know.)

I'm in the Reading (Berkshire) area. My mum lives close to Chester if that's any use. Would love to meet up at some point. Can be difficult though as hubby works away alot and I don't really have any baby sitters here. But if he's home or have notice I could hopefully sort something xxxxx

Hi sammy im only about 10 mins from chester myself, it would be fun if we could all meet up.. what a laugh we would have x

Hi Jewy et al,

Yeah that was me ! How are you?? I'm still in stitches (ha ha) - stitches still there...should they not be dissolved by now(banded 17th )...I thought Dr Chris said only the port stitch may need removing by GP...please advise

Hi dublingirl the dissolving stitches take ages to dissolve so i had mine taken out at the dr's surgery about a week after i had the blue drain stitch taken out.. my wounds felt much better once i had, because i didnt have dressings on them they sometimes pulled on my clothes, others took theres out themselves..i wasnt brave enough incase it went wrong :) x

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
