BUT, I knew it was only 10 pounds off, and always 10 pounds off. When it said 225, my doctor's scale said 235. When I got home from surgery, I went to Wally World (Walmart) and bought a digital scale ($25.00).

I am very disapointed.

Everytime I step on the darn thing, it reads a different number. At 3 1/2 weeks post op, I'd really like to know exactly what my weight loss is. I don't care about the number due to obsessive reasons (those days are over), but I want to know especially because I am trying to gage if I need a fill or not.

Does anybody have any ideas on what scale to buy? Which ones are the most accurate?

Thanks!

The WW or Weight Watchers scale is Aweome! That is the only one I have found that is right on teh money. Down to the ounces. Best one I have owned. I believe Target carries them. I thought Walmart did at one time. Hope that helps!

I have a Tanita InnerScan and it is on the money every time! Tanita is also the brand that is used at my surgeon's office and the fill center.

I have been using a Healtometer digital scale for about 6-7 years. It is very consistent in the readings (i.e., if I step off, let it reset and step back on, I get the same # each time.)

Here is the model I have:

Health o meter - Dial scales, Digital scales, Monitoring Scales, Professional Scales, Thermometers, Blood Pressure Monitors, How Scales Work, Health Products, Health Links, Health o meter Kids!

I took a quick look at the web sites for Wal-Mart and Target and they both had a selection of scales from this manufacturer at reasonable prices.

I have a WW scale too and I love it. It is digital and records tenths of a pound. Yes, it varies, but as I stand on it, it settles and is usually within a pound of that last time. I weigh at the same time each day, naked, and I log my weight on FitDay, each day. It may not SEEM like they are moving much, but I look back at me a month ago and I was ten pounds heavier. Now that is SOMETHING! I review my graph chart through the week....set it next to my caloric intake log and I can really see what's going on....none of this "Gee, I just don't seem to be losing weight and I just don't know WHY!" Fooey. I can tell immediately where I have screwed up. It's there in back and white.

I wasted money on buying a Homedics 520 health station (what ever). The darn thing cost almost 50 bucks and is not realiable. If I step on and off of it 3x I will get a different answer each time. It really makes me mad because I wanted a digital scale so that I could see even the ounces lost but it doesnt work. Im embaressed to do so but I think Im going to take it back. I know the store is going to think Im crazy but it was a waste of money. :car:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
