Anyone concerned about sagging skin? Any ideas on how to prevent if possible?

Recommended Posts

Lots of people are concerned about it! There are lots of threads with different things people do to accommodate or try to reduce.

Not much that can be done besides building muscle and plastics/surgical removal. A lot of people seem to like shape wear. I'm looking into it myself.

If it is any consolation, it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. It is kind of a trophy. I've worked hard to get to this point.

I am not worried about it, but I don't really like the idea of it a whole lot.

I've lost 44 pounds since my pre-op diet and I am really starting to notice the sagging skin. It bugs me enough to the point where I am really using quite a bit of lotion, especially in the areas that bother me.... my "loose" skin under my chin and my arms. I was using my small 5 lb. hand weights and doing arm exercises... I thought that might help some. I need to get back to doing that.

What kinds of lotions do you use or should you use? If you don't mind me asking.

I got curious about it and looked at YouTube. Some people use Nivea for cellulite. Jergen's makes a skin firming lotion. There are some neoprene wraps that you can wear on areas that may sag like upper arms, stomach, and for thighs. Who knows if any of it works. I even saw a blog where a lady used Preparation H and Saran Wrap. Again don't know if it works but heck it might be worth a try. Most people say strength train and drink a lot of Water.< /p>

No, don't mind at all you asking.

I am using Clinique night moisture repair on my face, under chin and neck area.

I'm using Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula, bust firming massage cream on my chest (I have had it for a couple of years, so thought that's why I'd start using it).

Then when I was in the hospital for a different surgery over a year ago, they used this Medline Remedy Skin Repair Cream on my skin and that's what I'm using on my arms, legs, etc.

I know that there are probably more expensive alternatives that may be better, but I'm probably not going to invest in them.

It is gonna happen regardless of what you do and if you have a significant amount of weight to lose. I'm saving for plastics when the time arrives.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
