carlychloe2 106 Posted January 31, 2017 just think this way...your new stomach its the size of a baby stomach... would you give alcohol to a baby... ??? BariatricMatters I'm well aware the size of my stomach! As a mother not even going to bother answering this! A simple answer SPECIFICALLY to the question would have been appreciated NOT the sarcasm. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I thought she gave a good analogy My bariatric book advises not to drink alcohol for a year. My sister who had the surgery 4 years ago said she doesn't recall waiting a year and more than likely didn't. Just wondering if you all waited a year or how long you waited AND how you felt after vs. before? I hear you become intoxicated fairly quick. Thx! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I had wine about 7 weeks it was fine. I doubt I will do it again. I don't think it's a good idea for me to drink. I don't need the calories and there is risk of alcoholism. Just my opinion. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App
Marissa Menditto 16 Posted January 31, 2017 My doctor said I could drink after 6 months and its been a year since my surgery, just a fair warning you will feel the effects after not even a drink and a chance being addicted. bariatrica14 95 Posted February 2, 2017 I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. What I meant was that your new stomach is so small now that you will feel sick quick, that's why I gave you the baby example. I gave you that example from my own experiences. I had my surgery two years ago, and when I drink one glass of alcohol, I feel very drunk as if I drank six glassss of alcohol. My comment was not sarcastic, it simply was an example. You asked, and I tried to answer it as simple as possible. BariatricMatters
