vegas_mimi 23 Posted January 21, 2017 (edited) Is it reasonable to believe i can go back to a semi physical job 1 week after surgery? I haven't had surgery yet I'm just curious if I will have to take more time then a week off which means I would have to postpone my surgery until I get more vacation time Sent from my LG-K540 using the BariatricPal App Edited January 21, 2017 by vegas_mimi

I haven't had surgery yet I'm just curious if I will have to take more time then a week off which means I would have to postpone my surgery until I get more vacation pay Sent from my LG-K540 using the BariatricPal App If it makes you feel any better I am having my surgery on Friday and plan to return to work on the following Monday. I hear I will likely just feel very tired but not a lot of pain Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

Charisma 10 Posted January 21, 2017 All that bending may be a bit tough but good luck. I hear fatigue is the worst part Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App
clc9 644 Posted January 21, 2017 Ask your doctor. Seems like lots of bending, kneeling, getting up etc would be painful. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
Natah1987 7 Posted January 21, 2017 It may not be a good idea. You should wait about two weeks. Ask your surgeon though. Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using the BariatricPal App
Jackson53 35 Posted January 21, 2017 I wouldn't recommend going back this early. Adjusting to your new diet can affect your decision making. I know I am dealing with low blood sugar and being tired because of not getting enough Protein. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Vee16 33 Posted January 22, 2017 I thought that I could go back after 3 weeks but with the exhaustion, dizzy spells and eating only purée made it impossible. I decided to go back after I was ok'd to eat solids. But bending is a definite no-no. Talk to your doctor first. hermione53 157 Posted January 22, 2017 There's no way that I could have gone back to work after a week even though i have a desk job. I was still in a good bit of pain and on narcotics. Bending over was painful until week 3. I went back to work after 4 weeks and I'm glad i did. I'm so sorry you don't have more vacation time/ sick time. Whatever you do, try to take it easy and get a lot of sleep when you're not working. Best of luck to you!
