bossportsgal 136 Posted January 21, 2017 Ok I'm on day 10 of post surgery liquid diet. I'm so done with liquids. Would it be wrong to slowly move to next stage? 4 days early? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
CrowMilk 96 Posted January 21, 2017 You need to talk to your surgeon first. Mine was okay with me slowly moving forward before the set date, but that's because the time period they choose is the same for all patients and I'm quite a bit younger than the average patient and was healing faster. Anyway, your surgeon knows best for you.
Natah1987 7 Posted January 21, 2017 Don't do anything without consulting first. It may be fine, but it may be that you're still not ready for the next phase. Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using the BariatricPal App
clc9 644 Posted January 21, 2017 (edited) Strangers on the internet can't be trusted to tell you whether you can do this safely. This won't be your toughest challenge on this road. Why not just show yourself you can do anything and stick with the plan? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App Edited January 21, 2017 by clc9
bossportsgal 136 Posted January 21, 2017 Thanks all. My beloved Patriots are playing tomorrow and I would love to have a little mushy food than liquid. But I'll be creative!
dodlbug 23 Posted January 22, 2017 They have these diet stages for a reason. If food gets stuck on a staple, infection could lead to a leak, which could lead to spesis and death. It's happened. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

blizair09 3,250 Posted January 22, 2017 I would not move forward without discussing it with your medical team. The food stages are there to protect you and your new stomach. Since you can't actually see your stomach, you have no idea what its current condition is. Making good decisions is a huge part of this journey, and deciding to stick to your plan should be one of them.
Ywent79 7 Posted January 22, 2017 Thanks all. My beloved Patriots are playing tomorrow and I would love to have a little mushy food than liquid. But I'll be creative!I haven't had the procedure yet, but getting ready for it I realized that I have to learn to enjoy the things I love without having to associate it with food, like family gatherings, etc. Stay strong, this is another goal that you must accomplish in order to change your life once and for all. Find an extra special Protein shake recipe and enjoy the heck out your precious Patriots! Then come back and tell us how good it felt to stay strong and not let food dictate what you can and cannot enjoy!
