tathomas1 8 Posted January 21, 2017 How long before it goes away? I stepped on the scale and have a 6 lb gain. I know it's fluids and air, but not what I wanted to see.

Depends on the person, could be 2-3 days or 2-3 weeks...I didn't even weigh myself for the first week post op because I knew this would be the case. Be prepared for the 3rd week stall too. The weight will come off, hard to do, but relax it will happen Edited January 21, 2017 by Travelher
tani 105 Posted January 21, 2017 I did not weigh myself until my 4 week post op appt, which I'm glad because I see several posts saying they had these stalls but I never saw it in my weight. I think it helped my mental and emotional state not knowing there was a stall. By the time I had my appt, my weight showed a 25 lb loss.
FindingCarrie 244 Posted January 21, 2017 My surgery was 1/17/17, and I do not plan to weigh myself until 2/1/17. I want to get in the habit of weighing on the 1st of each month. I just don't want to become obsessed with weighing myself so frequently because I am hoping to avoid seeing stalls also. Plus, although the numbers do matter to me, I am really looking forward to watching the clothes sizes drop. TinaKimani 64 Posted January 21, 2017 Yup. Totally normal. I had my surgery Monday. Gained a few after I got home and then this morning I woke up and was 3 pounds lighter than my surgery date. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
