Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App I have 5 incisions. One is under my sternum ( thinking where I had my hiatus hernia fixed) And 4 right across my belly button line with one being on or slightly above it.. DaniVSG 8 Posted January 21, 2017 Usually it's used for a retractor to hold your liver up and out of the way so the surgeon can see and have better access to your stomach cavity. They typically use the incision nearest to your belly button for CO2 insufflation. Sent from my SM-S906L using the BariatricPal App
rouxenj 7 Posted January 21, 2017 My surgeon told me. Just yesterday for my two week follow up. That the top incision is for the liver. They yanked that sucker right out of there and layed it on my belly for easier maneuverability. Sent from my XT1575 using the BariatricPal App
