first restaurnat since banding

Recommended Posts

I am starting solid food tomorrow. I pushed that date up by one day. Hubby and I were in town and neither one had much to eat today. We stopped at AppleBee's. I love their Quesidia Burger(excuse spelling). It is a very lean burger toasted between 2 flour tortilla's. We ordered one and split it. From my half, I ate only 1/4 of it. When that first bite went past my lips, I thought I had died and gone to heaven!!!! I took my time and chewed, chewed, chewed. I brought the left overs home for my meal later on.

I have lost 28 pounds since August 13. I got my band on the 27th of August and have been on liquids and then mushies. So, this was a real treat. :amen:

I just posted how I fell off the bandwagon today and hope I did not do any harm eating a full bag of corn chips. I was banded 08/23 and am to go to solids Wednesday. But I think you didn't do any harm doing it 1 day sooner plus you were very good in restraining yourself unlike me today. I went to O'Charleys for my DH birthdate............ did not good and worried about how my stomach is going to react to the chips which is bread. It's been about 20 minutes and so far, so good. I do wish you the best though!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
