crazylady1209 6 Posted January 20, 2017 Surgery was Wednesday morning, but my abdomen is so sore getting out of bed is tough. I walked every 2 hours in the hospital immediately following the the surgery, the started this while in recovery. It hurts when I am standing and take a deep breath it's like my lungs can't fill up all the way. Is this normal or should I be calling the doctor? I have been able to hold down liquids and scrambled eggs.....hopefully each day gets better. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App

But I'm on pure liquid diet. No foods/puréed yet. I too have the restricted breathing thing going on the nurse and doctor just told me to keep doing the respiratory therapy that was given to me in the hospital. That it will get better. But if you need to call your doctor do so for your own comfort. Good luck in your recovery. abaker04 22 Posted January 20, 2017 I had mine on Wednesday as well. Still very sore. Just goes to show you that the muscles we use we don't realize what we have until it's been taken away (temporarily of course). I will say that so far today has been better pain & nausea. I'm still only doing water/dilutated juice. Day 3 starts Protein shakes. I'm going to do my best. The way even Water feels going down I don't know how well I'm going to do. ~Ashley~
MFM008 44 Posted January 20, 2017 My left incision side was very sore for about 10 days. Deep breathing was painful. It's a sharp stabbing pain...because essentially you were stabbed. Be patient. Take your pain meds. Sent from my SGH-M919 using the BariatricPal App
