What Multi Vitamin best?

Recommended Posts

Hi All

What Multi Vitamin is the best to take? I have tried samples of Bariatric Advantage chewables and Unjury Multi chewable and they taste horrible!!!!!! It was the French vanilla for the BA and mixed berry for the Unjury. Please let me know what you guys have tried and what you like.

Thanks!!!!!

FYI: I take Celebrate chewables and they make me terribly nauseous if I chew them on an empty stomach. Unfortunately, I bought a six month supply!

I started taking Celebrate Multivitamin without Iron, capsule form. They make me incredibly nauseous, food or no food. However, their Iron chews are fantastic.

I'm trying Bariatric Advantage Ultra Multi soon. Hopefully that will be better.

I've been using optisource chewable Vitamins. You only need to take 1 pill 4 times a day. And you get what you need. My NUT said it would be the easiest to manage.

Do you need a chewable? If so, I have no recommendations, since I never had to be on one. I was allowed to start taking my Vitamins in capsule form at 7 days post-op. I have taken these since my surgery in Sept. 2015:

Yes you always have to take chewable multiple Vitamins if you have had RNY. I am 11 years out last year I started taking a multiple Vitamin in tablet form, my hair was falling out. I went to see the bariactric dietician and was told you have to take chewable forever. When I resumed the chewable Vitamin my hair stopped falling out. I take optisource 3-4 a day

This post is in the Gastric Sleeve forums though, so I assume that is not the case for the OP.

I take the BA capsule. I am 3 weeks out and have been taking it for 2 weeks. No taste, just point your face down when you swallow instead of your natural reflex to look up! The capsule floats so you have to drink more if you throw your head back! Take on an empty stomach then eat or drink a shake. 2 in morning, 1 at night!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
