Brianajubert 11 Posted January 19, 2017 So im doing research on what to bring for upcoming surgery on 1/23 and the common thing everyone says is sports bra. Im pretty heavy on top and it's hard to find a good normal bra let alone a sports one. Please let me know if its necessary and if so where to buy one for dd and up Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
mylighthouse 782 Posted January 19, 2017 Before surgery I was a DD too. I didn't go out and buy a sports bra and I was fine. You're right, it's hard enough to find a DD in a regular bra. I think you should be fine without the sports bra.
Lhogan876 21 Posted January 19, 2017 I went braless. It was a lot more comfortable Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

KimMcD3 2 Posted January 19, 2017 I love Enell sports bras they are by far the most supportive. But I just used a regular bra and was fine

Fiercekitten34 1 Posted January 19, 2017 I discovered front clasp sleep bras after I had my twin babies last year and they were what I brought to the hospital and have lived in ever since. I'm only five days out of surgery and they have been very comfortable. they come in a range of sizes and colors and they are soft, with no wire. I adore them. http://m.leadinglady.com/cotton-front-closure-leisure-bra.html Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Diana_in_Philly 1,426 Posted January 19, 2017 Before surgery 44H. Wore my usual bra to the hospital. Wore it home. Didn't wear a bra while I was in the hospital. I was fine. (Now a 40DD).
Caryn68 24 Posted January 19, 2017 Not quite a month out....started as a 48G and now a 40G. I went braless after the surgery n the hospital so no reason for a sports bra til you get cleared for surgery. I finally bought a new bra this week.....a new bra along with a pair of jeans....lol. Down 35 pounds! And so much more to go Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
janedoe92 260 Posted January 19, 2017 Haven't had surgery yet, but I'm a 44 DDD and I got my sports bras from Walmart, the xxl ones are comfy and keep the girls saddled:) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
sherri~ 77 Posted January 19, 2017 I've been wearing the hanes sports bras until I get to where I am more stable in weight Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Erissel 12 Posted January 19, 2017 They had me strip completely and put on a gown for surgery, so this was irrelevant until afterwards. However, I didn't feel the need for a sports bra at any point, in the hospital or otherwise. I wore my regular bras. Save your money for when you're down 30-40 lbs. I've had to buy bras twice in 7 months
ladyslim2015 74 Posted January 19, 2017 I went bra less. But I was a 40 j cup and bought my bras at Lane Bryant. Love love love it there. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
Vinasu 621 Posted January 19, 2017 I wore a bandeau bra from Walmart. It's 3 for $10, so they're practically disposable. I was a 44 DD at surgery, and they were super comfy in the hospital. I wouldn't wear them out, though...they aren't the most flattering. Sent from my SM-G925V using the BariatricPal App
RNMomof4 86 Posted January 19, 2017 I wore what was more of a sleep bra from kohls it is made like a sports bra but not tight and was much more comfortable. I'm a DD and bought an XL and it fit fine. Sent from my iPhone
