If I had to give up Peanut Butter I'd just die. Okay, that's overly dramatic, but I love the stuff.

I find a half a sandwich at 150 calories is preferred to a whole one. The half takes care of the craving but doesn't blow the day.

I like Peanut Butter and jelly in my oatmeal sometimes.

Juli, you should try whey Gourmet's chocolate Peanut Butter Protein powder. It's really good. If you'd like to try some, just PM me with your address. I'm trying to get everyone hooked on it. :nervous:rolleyes

Where do you get it and how do you use it?

The link has been posted but as far as "use" goes - just like regular PB. You mix it with a little Water to use as a spread (on sandwiches, fruit, etc) and I've mixed it dry, in with my oatmeal and Protein shake.

I'm going to try a peanut chicken recipe in the crock pot this week too.

It's pricey (with the shipping costs) but was worth it to me. I LOVE PB!

A nice tall glass of ice cold milk with a PB&J Sandwich.... those were awesome... But these days i can't handle bread so if i really get the craving ill pull out my wheat thins , and PB&J and make little mini crackerwichs :heh: with a small glass of milk (but only once in a while because not supposed to drink with meals)

Hey.. How about a PB&J Smootie ;) . Try this

3/4 cup low-fat vanilla yogert

3/4 cup 1% milk

2 teaspoons Peanut Butter

1 medium banana

1/2 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries

2 teaspoons whey powder

4 ice cubes, crushed

Makes 2 8-ounce servings

I hope this helps. I cannot image not eating a PB&J . Have a great day!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
