Joy889 11 Posted January 18, 2017 My doctor told me that my pre op diet must only consist of meat, cheese, and veggies only. As I look through the forums I see that a lot of people did the liquid diet. Has anyone else experienced a pre op food diet?
losingitinjax 1 Posted January 19, 2017 My pre-op diet is 4 shakes a day and then either a lunch of dinner with 4 to 6 oz lean Protein and 2 cups of green vegetable and/or salad with low cal dressing. This is for the 15 days before surgery.
20mustang02 22 Posted January 19, 2017 I did meat and cheese only basically. I had to stay under 40 carbs a day and be careful because veggies have carbs if you have a budget. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
xoxococojay 842 Posted January 19, 2017 Oh you're soo lucky. My doctor said liquids were mandatory. I did cheat a few days before because it was the holidays and i ate food, healthy food but still food. And i was fine after surgery. In your case, just trust what your doctor is saying. We did the liquid diet to get our liver to shrink and to speed up pre-op weight loss. It just makes it easier for the doctor to get to your stomach that's all. AGreenEyedWolf 97 Posted January 19, 2017 4 Protein shakes or bars and 1 meal a day... all under the rule that the Protein in grams has to be higher than the first 2 numbers of the calorie count is the pre-op diet for me... only change is day before surgery liquids only after lunch.
