Do you eat breakfast?

Recommended Posts

I have Oikos drinkable yogurt for Breakfast most days. Other days I'll have one scrambled egg or cream of wheat (although even though it's very very filling, it's only 3 grams of Protein. So I don't do that anymore). I like the drinkable yogurts because I can start my day without cooking which allows me to do more with my day. And they have 10 gram of Protein. Then I get on my old elliptical and do 20 minutes. Then I get some decaffeinated coffee and add 4 oz of Premier Protein vanilla that adds 10.8 grams of protein. Breakfast helps to get my day started. And the protein helps me exercise more and more.

I don't "eat" breakfast but I have a Protein latte. I run through the Starbucks drive-thru and order triple espresso over ice in a venti cup and add either a premier vanilla or caramel shake. It's how I start every work day. I'm just not great at eating in the mornings so this routine works for me.

I'm prone to nausea in the morning but do better when I eat. Pre-op, I'd blend up some Chike mocha Protein shake with hemp seeds. Post-op, that's too much lactose and effort so I keep rtd coffee Protein shakes in the fridge - very thin, not too sweet - and try to get one down fairly early.

7am: Protein latte - 15g Protein

10am (ish) - either left overs from dinner the night before or greek yoghurt/nuts/protein bar or other snack.< /p>

I can't do without my latte drink now, i love it and it fills me up!

You guys make me wish i drank coffee lol. Not a huge coffee fan but i love tea. I honestly hardly ever eat Breakfast. I usually either don't feel like it or no time. But usually if i have it I'd start with a Protein shake. For some reason its just easier to get down instead of food first meal of the day.

Have you ever used vanilla Protein powder to make a tea latte? I make an iced chai latte or Thai tea most mornings!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
