Kaosman 0 Posted September 22, 2007 Hey Everyone, just found this site when I was out trying to research lap-banding surgery. Seems like a great site with alot of info. I have been heavy most of my life, even through all the years of sports, excersize, and diet, I have never been able to lose weight to where I am healthy. The past several years have been very bad for me as I have put on more weight that ever before. Being 6' and 350 pounds put me in a class where something needs to be done before I start having health issues. Gastric bypass is definetly not for me as I dont like the idea of being chopped up and pieced back togethor and diet with regular excersize has not been very successful these past few years. To say I am nervous is an understatement, but I think it is something I have to persue. I am in the very beginning stages as all I have done is internet research and a general inquiry to my insurance company to see if they cover it. So far, the response back from the insurance company has been favorable (80% coverage- this may change when open enrollment comes up this fall for benefits if I can find a carrier that covers more of the procedure.
