Yeah, after reading people's posts on here of having to do 2-4 weeks of a liquid diet, I'm trying not to complain too much about doing 1 week ;) Although...I'm really really hungry right now lol.

Been lurking a bit and finally decided to post as I'm going through the pre-op jitters. I'm on day #9 of the liquid diet and scheduled for the 25th as well. Went to may first information meeting on surgery back in May of last year so ready to finally cross this bridge.

Good luck to all!

So I just tried greek yogurt again and surprise, surprise, it's still gross lol. I firmly believe they make you do this whole liquid diet thing because it makes you want to eat ANYTHING even if it's a vegetable :D What I wouldn't give for a salad right now! I don't like Jello, most yogurt, and I only slightly like pudding, so my choices are limited this week lol.

Good luck to everyone else, we'll get through it!!!

How's everyone else doing? Can't believe tomorrow is the big day. Originally was slated for 7:30 a.m. surgery time but it got pushed back an hour. I'm okay with that. We typically get up about 4 a.m. every day but I really didn't want to have to try and get to the hospital by 5:30 a.m. The extra hour will help.

Good luck to everybody that is having their surgery tomorrow. Hope all goes well for all of us!

Good luck to you too Orion! I'm just ready to have this over with! My surgeon has us stay 2 nights and 3 days, and since I work in the medical field, I am a horrible patient haha. I just wanna go in and get it done and go home ;) Crossing my fingers for all of us!

In the same boat. 2 nights and 3 days sounds better when you're talking about Vegas, not the hospital...lol.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
