Weak...no energy [emoji30]

Recommended Posts

I felt that way the first few weeks. Your body's been through trauma, and you're not taking in very many calories. It takes time...

Everyone is different. I had tons of energy. Just give yourself time to heal and your body time to adjust to the new you. Don't measure yourself against anyone else. You will be ok.

I felt bottomed out and very weak at times. I went back to my nut and my Vitamin combination wasn't enough.

I've felt the same way. I've been struggling to get my Protein in, so I just decided to eat nothing but Protein right now. It has helped a lot. I hope you get to feeling better soon. I keep telling myself that every day is a little better.

It gets better once your calories boost up.

Calories, calories, calories. Aside from the obvious need for hydration my nutritionist encouraged us to get enough calories in every day so we don't feel so fatigued.

Of course Protein is important, but even with 3 Premier Protein shakes per day you're not reaching the 500-600 calories per day that are typically what they go for during the first few weeks postop.

Eas Myoplex double chocolate has the most calories per shake that I've seen out there. They have them at Walmart.< a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="https://s.bariatricpal.com/uploads/monthly_01_2017/post-305854-14848360465133.jpg" data-fileid="68410" rel="">post-305854-14848360465133_thumb.jpg

Then there are these little 2oz jars at Dollar Tree -- they come in a pack of 2.

Fill up 4 of them ready to go every hour, then set a timer for yourself every 15 minutes or find a Westminster Chimes app on your phone and use that to remind you to drink every 15 minutes.

Good luck to you, you will be feeling better soon!

Protein promotes healing. Doc told me to up it and it worked for me. But give your body time to heal as well. Some people heal quicker than others.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
