Any New York City Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm in the Bronx. Sleeved on April 3rd, 2017. HW:261, SW:244, CW:164!!! I'm happy with my results but I'm deficient in my Iron and B Vitamins.

Hi. Glad to hear your happy with your results.
Are you taking pills for vitamins? I use vitamin patches since surgery. Are you keeping active , gym exercise?

Yes, I'm taking Multivitamins, B-Complex, Vitamin B1, Vit C and D. My PCP just added monthly B12 shots and B12 sublingual pills everyday. I'm also taking a high dude Iron capsule as well. It metabolizes differently than over the counter iron. Yes, I stay very active. I do exercise. BUT, my weight lifting sucks!!! I don't have the time to go to a gym. I have made one in my garage but I still have to get a weight bench and other weight equipment.

Cool. I still get a B12 injection but use a multi Vitamin Patch every other day since my body absorbs it well. I had too much Vitamin.
Exercise is important. I stopped during the summer since I was concentrating on biking [emoji1395]. I’ll start my regular routine at 5am before going to work.

I'm trying to learn how to post on this site. Lol....did you ever feel any regrets after having the surgery???

This app sucks. It’s hard to locate certain things.
As for your question. It was best decision I’ve ever made. My only regret was not doing it sooner. What about you?
When I did my surgery it was 3 days before my birthday so it was hard with family and friends wanting to go out. I didn’t tell anyone aside from my fiancée. My family and friends just think I lost weight since I been going to the gym 5 days a week.

Lol...I totally understand you. My co-workers, my children and hubby, my brother, and maybe 2 friends know about my surgery. I lost the weight and people be so surprised because they had not seen me for months, even years. I'm not ashamed at all about my surgery. It is the best decision I have ever made!!!! I can actual breath. I can walk up stairs and 1 mile without having shortness of breath. My joints don't hurt anymore. It's an amazing feeling. I'm 6 months post op, the only negative thing about the surgery is these yo-yo hormones. [emoji34]

I didn’t tell family because I know how they would pass judgment and comments so I didn’t want to be bothered. My nephew had surgery last year and I hear the comments so I just stay out of it.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
