nicole12374 5 Posted January 19, 2017 I took a week and a half. I'm a nurse and was fine to go back that soon. Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App
Aussiesleever16 0 Posted January 19, 2017 Hello! I am getting the gastric sleeve and need to give my work some sort of idea. Ideally, I would like to return ASAP. I work in fashion apparel and sit at a desk 24/7 with travel at different times of the year. I can schedule my surgery to be far away from traveling. But how long did it take for most of you to return ?My surgeon recommended 2 weeks off work. That worked well for me. MargieB723 13 Posted January 19, 2017 I had Sleeve on 12/16 because I was off work 12/15-1/2 so ideal time (although I could have applied for state disability (even using a doctor in Tijuana they complete paperwork for you which I was surprised to hear). I'm in sales so work from home 2 days and out in field 3 and the 2 weeks we're totally enough for me. I was totally fine to go back to work. I also have had a super easy experience from day of surgery so maybe that contributed. I agree that energy level can be the bigger factor vs any discomfort. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App What do you think contributed to your "easy" experience?? I'm less than 3 weeks before my procedure and I just want to know what I can be doing now to make my experience easy as well! ???? *Praise God, from whom all Blessings flow*

CindyZee 2 Posted January 20, 2017 I had surgery last Wednesday and returned to work yesterday. I work in an office and walk about 4-5000 steps a day. I'm good for about 6 hours but then start yawning. I'm not allowed coffee so I just deal with the afternoon slump.

But how long did it take for most of you to return ?I returned to my desk job a week post op. Wished I had taken longer. I was very weak and tired. Pain wasn't the issue any longer but exhaustion from having little to no nutrition, was brutal. I got through it but it was rough.
