@@bossportsgal I would have given my left arm to eat a cheeseburger after my surgery. All I wanted to do was actually CHEW something...it was certainly the hardest part of my recovery period. I wish you the best of luck!

I tried cottage cheese (but it made me yak), and then i used my stick blender and blended up regular Soups and such for a little more consistency. I hope that helps a little!!!

you are luckier than most people if you can move on in 7 days. I have been on full weeks for 2 weeks since surgery (and 2 weeks before surgery). Tomorrow I have my appointment so i can move on to puree. Good luck to you in 2 days

I take any Soup that is low in carbs and sugar and use my nutribullet RX that pulsifies it. I get good flavor and it's liquid. I do this once a day.

I'm pretty sure I will need two weeks of liquids

I was on liquids for 3 weeks (and I didn't even have to do the infamous pre-op liquid diet because I had lost so much weight prior to the surgery). That period was BY FAR the toughest for me, but it was necessary to give my stomach time to be ready for something more dense. The food stages are there to protect us because we can't see what the current state of the stomach is from the outside.

Hang in there. Good luck!

Started mine today...not really hungry but they taste very sweet. Premier Protein. I am looking forward to my bariatric Soup tonight for a savory flavor! 13 days to go so I may be gagging by the end of this.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
