rbaertsch 34 Posted January 17, 2017 This is crazy because I'm not much of a drinker. A few times a year maybe. Maybe it's the football playoffs, but I can't wait to have a beer. How long are we supposed to wait? I don't see my doctor for a while and I'm too embarrassed to call and ask. suzzzzz 1,005 Posted January 17, 2017 The best answer needs to come from your doctor and not from strangers on the internet. Every plan is different. Nothing to be embarrassed about unless you are under age.

Greensleevie 451 Posted January 17, 2017 I have a suspicion your surgeon will think it's far too early for you to be be drinking.
rbaertsch 34 Posted January 17, 2017 I didn't think about the carbonation! Glad I asked about that. I was just curious about how long we have to wait. I'm not planning on rushing out to the bar anytime soon!
thisisthenewme 358 Posted January 17, 2017 I was told it takes your stomach 6 months to heal and so they say to at least wait till then. I'm just over 3 months out and had a couple spiced rum and Diet Pepsi over the holidays. No issues with the carbonation, but I definitely felt it sooner. Everyone is different. Listen to your body. TryinToLose 3 Posted January 17, 2017 Whatever you do, DON'T listen to your body! That's how most of us got into this mess, isn't it. Listen to your surgeon. I'm surprised you didn't get a timeline of when you could have what, but don't be embarrassed to call. You have a right to know, and a responsibility to your new body to do it right.
