Try "tone it up" videos on YouTube. They had a tv show before. They have great exercises.

Also Dr Mathew Weiner (weight loss/bariatric surgeon) has a good YouTube video on exercise.

Can you get some weights and just do strength training at home ? Or squats, lunges, etc..

I have been wanting to get weights, waiting for husbands taxes of course or when we have a free check at this point. Because I know I need to get weights or something especially for my arms. I have noticed I am starting to lose strength in my arms. Only a little loss in my legs

I am walking 3.5 miles on my treadmill every other day (about). What are or did you do at 3 months post op?

Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

I think that's great! I'm almost 4 months or and am on week two of couch to 5k. I also have a personal trainer come 3x a week, 30 min twice and an hour on Saturday. I usually walk in addition to the c25k 5 times a week. My surgeon said as long as we're feeling good, we can do what we want.
I think I am just so lost on everything. I know there is no way I can afford the whole personal trainer thing

Try Fitstar app, I have been using it over about 2 weeks and I love it. 2 workout sessions a week is free but if you want more then you have to pay but I like it because it increases in intensity the more you work out. But, I am also one of those people I can motivate myself, I just need the structure.
I can motivate myself too. I just get lost or too overwhelmed. I don't work. And I get exercised induced headaches and Migraines. And I think that might be where I get lost with what I can do. I push through with my treadmill.

Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

That is where the app is the trainer. You do a fitness test and workout from there. I say just give it a try. It's free so what can you lose besides weight! Lol

I was late. But I have seen 6 weeks at least. But you can start walking when you feel up to it. Just don't over do it.

At 6 weeks out I started taking Tae Kwon Do four days a week. I'm now a green belt and I love it! It's cardio, strength training, and flexibility all in one. Now, I can do the splits, and I've started sparring. The down side is I kicked the target wrong last year and lost a toenail...and it grew back really wonky.

You are doing well.

Be consistent with the exercise and be mindful of the calorie intake and all will be well.

Measure, track, evaluate, adjust activity accordingly.

In short, weigh daily and take appropriate action.

I am barely at 500 calories if I am lucky for my intake. I have lost 41lbs in 3 months. I started at 257lbs. And I am 5'3".

Wow 500 calories? That's not nearly enough at 3 months. I'm surprised your weight hasn't stalled out yet. If it happens, definitely up your calories by 100-200. That's should get things moving again.

I have been trying to. But certain things still make me sick. I have had to restart myself a few times already and getting ready to do it again. Going to talk to my surgeon about it tomorrow. I haven't added too many new foods because of it and I can't eat that much because I get too full. I make sure to eat slow. There are sometimes I eat too fast though

My surgeon did not want us working out before two months. We could walk but nothing intense and I think weights are even longer to reduce the risk of hernia.

It's usually up to the surgeon. But usually it is about 6 weeks. But you still want to build up to it. Obviously you don't want to start out doing anything strenuous, especially after surgery!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
