Redmaxx 740 Posted January 16, 2017 I had to have two of them before I left the hospital. They used it to check for leaks.
auntberber 32 Posted January 16, 2017 I had to have one post-op, the day after my surgery. It was the most miserable part of the whole gastric sleeve process. The stuff you have to drink is disgusting, and I had to lay on the table in very awkward and painful positions while they tested me for leaks. Ugh...I hope I never have to go through that again! A pre-op one would be much better...at least I hope it would. Good luck! Genn
izzy13 117 Posted January 16, 2017 I had one pre op, it diagnosed my Hiatial hernia. Also had one post op to check for leaks. I did not enjoy them but there are worse things out there! Good luck [emoji256]
pancakes 4 Posted January 16, 2017 It might just depend on your surgeon. I had one but the other 2 surgeons in the group did not require them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
bill1130 115 Posted January 16, 2017 A lot of places make you done one. It's really nothing to worry about it just checks for hiatial hernias so if you have one that can fix it while they have you open it just had to do it last week it doesn't taste very good. But over all it was fast and easy to do Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

BBweightlossjourney 49 Posted January 16, 2017 Its standard..and as already mentioned fast and easy. I got it the morning after my sleeve to check for leaks prior to heading home .. it sucked because it taste nasty but its only about two sips of it that you take.. its just that you haven't had anything to eat or drink in over 25 hours at that piont and then u have this test ....but look at the bright side.. u can drink Water after and its a test they do to check for leaks and then u go home sweet home!
